The Art of Becoming Me
because healing doesn’t end,
but it doesn’t have to feel so heavy
Join us for a monthly, online group using
art & creativity to ditch overthinking & connect within
Healing from childhood patterns, dysfunction, and trauma can feel unexpectedly long.
The overthinking can feel intense, like a constant “loop track” in your head,
leading to dread about sessions.
You think you’ve worked through something – then it shows up again somewhere else, right?
Someone once described, “It’s like I’m constantly doing ‘etch-a-sketch’ with myself.”
I’ve been there, too, and it’s overwhelming and discouraging.
This group isn’t about fixing anything (including YOU). Healing isn’t a destination, it’s just a new lens.
This group is about giving your nervous system a break while still doing something effective.
It’s a gentler way to support healing, when the confrontational-type of therapy just wears you down.
You don’t have to talk. You don’t have to share. You don’t have to present anything.
You can just show up and give your soul some relief – and maybe make some friends.
You don’t have to know what you’re doing
You don’t have to come with anyone
You don’t have to be “good” at art
You can even throw it away if you want
This is not about any outcome.
It’s about the process.
What if healing could feel a little gentler, but still powerful?
It can.

Why art in healing?
Creativity in healing is a holistic approach that recognizes the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit, and seeks to address issues on all three levels. Expressive arts can support the work you’re doing in therapy healing from anxiety, depression, trauma resolution, addiction recovery, manage chronic pain, reduce stress, and improve emotional well-being.
Everyone has the potential to be creative in some form or another benefit from support in self-expression, communication, problem-solving, relieving stress and promoting healing.
Topics that expressive arts can address include: bodymind connection, emotional overwhelm, sleep regulation, fear and anxiety, perception & self-awareness, subconscious processes, self-trust, and social connection.
Specific benefits include:
- Reducing Overthinking: focusing attention on the task at hand helps you let go of external stressors. Body responses like increased heart rate, high blood pressure, and muscle tension can be reduced, creating a sense of calm and relaxation, better understanding and acceptance of oneself.
- Emotional Expression: Art allows individuals to express emotions and thoughts that may be difficult to find the words for, this can provide a nonverbal outlet for big feelings or experiences.
- Mental Flexibility: Engaging in artistic activities can enhance mental adaptability,, helping you cope with stress and improve overall psychological health.
- Self-Awareness: Art therapy encourages self-exploration, increasing self-awareness, perception, and helps you understand your own emotions better.
- Coping Mechanism: Art can serve as a coping skill, providing a creative outlet for reducing stress and managing your emotions.
- Community Support: Creative/expressive groups foster a supportive community where you can share your work, increase your self-worth and sense of belonging.
- Mindset shifts: Improving adaptability, acceptance, and fostering hope & new ways of thinking.
